About the Department of General Medicine
The Department of General Medicine at RKDF Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal is the largest clinical department of the institution, providing diagnosis and management of adult medical illness across cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, nephrology, endocrinology, infectious disease, respiratory and critical care. Services include specialist outpatient clinics, dedicated male and female medical wards, intensive and high-dependency care and round-the-clock emergency medical cover, supported by the hospital’s laboratory, imaging and blood-bank services. For students, the department anchors clinical training from second year onward through bedside teaching, case presentations, ward rounds, clinical postings and internship duties under the NMC competency-based curriculum. Faculty and resident doctors supervise history-taking, examination, investigation planning and evidence-based management, while journal clubs, seminars and clinico-pathological meetings sustain academic activity and research.
