About the Department of ENT
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology — commonly known as ENT — at RKDF Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal manages diseases of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck, including hearing loss, ear discharge, sinus and nasal disorders, tonsil and adenoid disease, voice and swallowing problems, foreign bodies and head-and-neck lesions. The department provides specialist OPD services, audiometry and hearing assessment, endoscopic examination, minor procedures and ENT operation-theatre services, with emergency cover for nasal bleeding, airway and foreign-body emergencies. It works alongside Radio-Diagnosis, Anaesthesiology, Paediatrics and General Surgery for combined care. Undergraduate teaching follows the NMC competency-based curriculum and covers ENT examination technique, use of the headlight and otoscope, common operative procedures, tracheostomy care and national programme guidance on prevention of deafness, delivered through clinical postings, demonstrations and supervised procedure exposure.
