About the Department of Paediatrics
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at RKDF Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal provides women’s healthcare across pregnancy, childbirth and gynaecological disease — antenatal and postnatal care, high-risk pregnancy management, normal and operative deliveries, family planning services and gynaecological surgery. The department runs specialist OPD and antenatal clinics, dedicated wards, a labour-room complex, obstetric operation theatres and emergency obstetric cover, working with Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology, Radio-Diagnosis and Pathology for coordinated maternal and newborn care. Undergraduate teaching follows the NMC competency-based curriculum and includes antenatal examination, partogram use, labour-room postings, family-welfare counselling and supervised participation in deliveries and surgical procedures. The department also supports national maternal-health programmes, adolescent and reproductive-health awareness activities, and research into maternal and gynaecological outcomes.
