About the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at RKDF Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal helps patients regain movement, strength and independence after injury, surgery, stroke or long-term illness, using physiotherapy, exercise therapy, electrotherapy and assistive-device guidance. The department works closely with Orthopaedics, General Medicine, General Surgery and Paediatrics to plan rehabilitation for fractures and post-operative recovery, back and neck pain, arthritis, neurological weakness, cerebral palsy and sports injuries. Services cover outpatient physiotherapy, bedside rehabilitation for admitted patients, gait and mobility training and patient-and-family education on home exercise programmes, with progress reviewed at planned intervals by the treating team.
