About the Department of Paediatrics

The Department of Paediatrics at RKDF Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal provides comprehensive healthcare for newborns, infants, children and adolescents — from routine growth monitoring and immunisation to the management of acute illness, nutritional disorders and childhood emergencies. Clinical services include a paediatric OPD, dedicated paediatric wards, neonatal and paediatric intensive care, immunisation and nutrition clinics and round-the-clock emergency cover, supported by the hospital’s laboratory and imaging services. The department also provides newborn care alongside Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the labour room and operation theatre. For MBBS students and interns, teaching follows the NMC competency-based curriculum through clinical postings, bedside case presentations, growth and development assessment, neonatal resuscitation training and parent-counselling skills. Faculty guide child-health research and the department participates in national child-health programmes and community outreach activities.
